  5. Polishing: To further improve the appearance and texture of the rice, it may undergo a polishing step. Polishing is done using friction to remove the outer layer of the rice kernel, creating a shiny and smooth surface.

  6. Grading and Sorting: After the polishing process, the rice is sorted and graded based on size, shape, and quality. This ensures that only high-quality grains make it to the final product.

  7. Packaging: The processed white rice is then packaged for distribution and sale. It is usually packed in various sizes, from small consumer packages to bulk sacks for commercial use.

  8. Quality Control: Quality control measures are implemented throughout the processing to ensure that the final product meets the desired quality standards. This includes checks for broken or damaged grains, as well as foreign material.

It's important to note that the degree of milling and polishing can vary based on regional preferences and market demands. Some consumers prefer parboiled rice, which is partially boiled before milling to retain more nutrients. This process results in a different texture and flavor compared to regular white rice.
